Kaya Soaps

Jan 2015 – Present

Intro

Kaya Soaps is a skincare brand focused on preserving traditional methods of making handmade products along with growing organic herbs—the very same ones to craft and produce products at Kaya Soaps. Our hands on approach is the most effective way to ensure integrity and we are commited to good quality, hence release small batches of goods.

We value creativity and understand the role of brand awareness in a digital market space. Because we are selling exclusively online we strive to present the best image for our brand by maintaining a great online presence. The minimal packaging and logotype for the visual design helps crafts a clean and elegant look, thus framing products at the forefront of our brand.

Responsibilities

I've had the opportunity to wear many different hats: design, art direction, photography, communications, online marketing, and partnerships. We have led successful partnerships with these brands: UncommonGoods, PressedJuices, West Elm, Handmade Loves, farmgirlflowers and many more!

Learnings

Kaya Soaps has been an incredible learning experience. As a designer I had the opportunity to lead the creative vision for the brand and worked closely with the founders to craft experiences for customers in both a physical and digital commerce space.

Storytelling has been an important arena of focus to lay the foundation in which our identity takes shape and evolves as we grow. What are our target messages? What is our target image? What are our promotional needs in a digital space? What vehicles will we use for online communications? Instagram (@kayasoaps) has been a terrific visual platform for us to raise awareness and reach the right audience to grow our business.
